Altered fan - Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge

Hello Mixed Media friends !   After a few weeks of absence, I am coming back with a new altered object: an altered fan. In my opinion, fans are the most delicate and feminine accessories there can be. They have a very special place in my heart. One of the very first object I altered was a fan. And I loved it. Last year, inspired by Frank Garcia, I made a shabby chic pink altered fan. I gave it to a friend of mine who basolutely loved it and asked me to make a similar one, in mint/blue. Therefore, I came up with this one... [Lire la suite]

New year, new challenges at simply create too!

Hello crafty friends! Happy new year to you all.  My first post this year is also my first DT of the year for Simply create too. This month theme is «anything goes»! Because of the holidays, I didn't have much time, so I prepared something really quick and simple: two new shabby jars. You can find them below: One is green and apricot, the second one is orange and purple. I painted them with the Metallic emerald green and coral reef art alchemy paints by Finnabair. I added some rose gold wax on the green one, then tied a... [Lire la suite]

Shabby chic wooden squirrel

Hello Mixed Media lovers   Today, I am sharing with you a cute little project that I really like... I had in my stash a tiny wooden squirrel and decided to do something with it :  I applied one or two layers of Finnabair's rust effect paste in purple and lavender. Then, I used the Stamper Anonymous/Tim Holtz stencil "Floral" to apply some rust effect paste in powder blue. I glued a fabric flower, some paper butterflies that I punched out a hole-punch, some handmade cabochon (with holo glitter or paint), a handmade bow... [Lire la suite]

Shabby chic mixed media canvas / Toile ronde shabby chic (Mixed Media)

Hello Mixed Media lovers ! I will share with you my last project. In my stash, I had a round canvas that I started last year but didn't like : I painted the canvas with some violet-green opal magic paint by Finnabair, added a big flower through a Donna Downey stencil with modelling paste and paintend this one in lilac. After that, I got stuck, didn't really like the result and didn't know where I was going. So I left it aside and didn't touch it for almost a year. Until I saw an Insta post from Lemoncraft, sharing a very nice paper... [Lire la suite]

Shabby altered blackboard/ Tableau noir shabby altéré

Hello crafty friends ! In a few weeks, I will be moving in a new house, and I will finally have a craft room, or at least a craft space. I know exactly how I want it (mint, white and shabby), so I decided to start decorating it. A few years ago, my parents-in-law offered me a very rustic blackboard. I liked it, but I didn't know what to do with it, I put it in a cupboard and forgot about it until about a month ago. I forgot to take a picture of the board in its original state, but here it comes now: I painted it with white gesso... [Lire la suite]
