Altered jewelry holder - Bleeding Art Challenge

Hello Everyone ! Today I am sharing with you my entry to the March Bleeding Art Challenge. I had an old jewelry holder in my stash for a while, and when I saw Cathy's little fairies, I knew what I had to do...   For this project, I added wings to my jewelry holder together with tiny metal roses, glass cabochons and art stones. I also used white gesso, rust effect paste from Finnabair in purple and turquoise, some embossing powder for the glitter and I painted the cabochons with Finnabair's metallic acrylic paint Crocus... Altered heart tin box - Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge

Hello, Mixed Media lovers ! Today, I am sharing my entry to the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge "Miniature/Tiny things". A few months ago, I ordered from a bead shop and received a tiny heart shaped tin box full of peppermint candies... I decided to keep it and to do something with it... Originally, this tiny box looks like this :  Here is the final result :  To alter this box, I started by sanding it so my mediums would adhere better. I applied one coat of black gesso on the box and on my embellishments (except... [Lire la suite]

Chocolate jars - Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge

Hello Mixed Media friends,   Today I am sharing with you my first project for February. This is a project I have been working on for a few weeks, but I was a bit lacking of inspiration... Before Christmas, one of my coworkers brought two huge mason jars full of candies at work. Once they were empty, I asked him if I could take them home to create something with it. These jars are going to be chocolate jars. A chocolate jar ? What's that ? These will be jars where people can put some money in order to buy chocolate for the... [Lire la suite]

Once upon a tale ...

Hello Mixed Media friends ! Today, I would like to share with you a project I really love. Soon, it will be one of my friends' birthday and I altered a notebook for her. I have been inspired by the Disney Movie "Tangled". For the cover, I used some paper clay pieces that I made with my Prima mold. I covered them with black gesso and then glued them on the front cover.  I started by applying a layer of Finnabair's Opal Magic violet blue, but ended up covering everything with Art Alchemy Sparks Iris Potion. Then I applied... [Lire la suite]

Hello crafty friends! Happy new year to you all.  My first post this year is also my first DT of the year for Simply create too. This month theme is «anything goes»! Because of the holidays, I didn't have much time, so I prepared something really quick and simple: two new shabby jars. You can find them below: One is green and apricot, the second one is orange and purple. I painted them with the Metallic emerald green and coral reef art alchemy paints by Finnabair. I added some rose gold wax on the green one, then tied a... [Lire la suite]

Altered jars - shabby chic on glass !

Hello crafty friends ! Today, I am sharing with you a very quick post about some jars I altered for my friends. These were very cute glass jars that I altered to give them a shabby look. Each of them has a different color combination, and I like each model. I started by painting each jar with white gesso and then added two layers of the first color. The first one is rose gold (Finnabair's Art Alchemy Sparks "Butterfly spells"). I added a bit of patina paste by Finnabair in turquoise here and there and tied a ribbon in a close... [Lire la suite]

Shabby chic wooden squirrel

Hello Mixed Media lovers   Today, I am sharing with you a cute little project that I really like... I had in my stash a tiny wooden squirrel and decided to do something with it :  I applied one or two layers of Finnabair's rust effect paste in purple and lavender. Then, I used the Stamper Anonymous/Tim Holtz stencil "Floral" to apply some rust effect paste in powder blue. I glued a fabric flower, some paper butterflies that I punched out a hole-punch, some handmade cabochon (with holo glitter or paint), a handmade bow... [Lire la suite]
